GPS users: please enter city as “RUNNING SPRINGS”, please access Tao Cabins #1 & #3 from “DEEP CREEK DRIVE”. Google Maps, MapQuest and GPS will use ”UPPER BOULDER ROAD” (this road is a quarter mile past Deep Creek Drive if you are going toward Big Bear Lake). This road is unpaved and very steep. It is unsafe in the winter. DO NOT ENTER FROM "UPPER BOULDER ROAD" during the winter.

If the lake is what draws you, bring up a boat and enjoy yourself! Big Bear Lake has two public boat launches with easy access to the water. No boat? Easily rent one at Big Bear Marina .
